I recently dusted off my Pioneer Laserdisc player. Man, how I miss the fun of flipping those massive disks over once you reach the end of one side. So sweet! They are quite beautiful to look at also.

Going through the collection, I came across a few Richard Dreyfuss films I thought would be grand entertainment. To start off the marathon, I watched The Goodbye Girl (1977). That was a great performance by a man of 30. I especially enjoyed the roll of Quinn Cummings and Marsha Mason. After that came the viewing of Jaws (1975). This is one of Speilberg's best action/thriller/suspense movies of the 70's. It was absolutely shocking and comical, but more appropriately, traumatizing for any young teenager viewing the horror of a large shark munching through humans. Kept many of my friends and in large part myself, from swimming in open waters. How excellent!

After that, it was just a matter of time to make the leap to Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977). I'll admit, Richard must have been a hard working actor in those years. Three major, double-barrelled, fame packing, monster flicks in a decade. Not to forget mentioning American Graffiti (1973) and Dillinger (1973).

So, in reviewing these movies, I got to thinking, what other movies of his would I might like to see? Here is my list of movies to look for by Richard Dreyfuss:
